Year two!

That's right! I blink and it is year two.  It is amazing how life just zooms on past not letting you catch your breath.
We have made our transition to DC.  This place can test the patience of a saint.  I bet if Pope Francis had to drive around here he would even be frustrated. Good thing married life is more than just driving around.

For a recap the main point I learned from last year was that my I became a we, I do house chores willingly, and my love had grown. All of these have remained true. I still think of activities as a couple, I still do things around the house.  (I might need to use the vacuum though) and my love grows deeper everyday.

This year the times are tight so we are not looking to get each other stuff for our anniversary. I already broke this with a nice wallet for her.  Hers was getting well worn and its strap was fraying so I found a decent deal on a style I thought she liked and got it for her.  She is using it and she said she liked it so I am happy.

The mind meld is continuing.  I can't count how many times we see something an laugh and then look at each other and just know we are thinking the same thing.  We can finish each other sentences and are usually on the same page when it come to almost anything.  It is cool to have that type of connection with someone.

The biggest drawback in our life has nothing to do with our life.  It is this Cancer of a town. While my wife loves her job, she can't stand this place.  The people are rude, the cost of living is crazy, and it takes forever to go anywhere.  I think the phrase nice to visit, horrible to live at fits pretty well.  I know it has place a strain on our lives and or home life.  I try to remain optimistic but it is hard.

We have a new saying thanks to Kimmy Schmidt, "I can do anything for 10 sec."  So you do it for 10 sec and then start the 10 sec over again until it is done.  Hopefully someday, I will end my 10 sec and we will be moving on. Either that or we get used to this place and ignore the bad and reveal in the good, like our love or District Taco.

We went to my family's home for thanksgiving.  We took off all week and it was wonderful.  it was awesome spending so much time together. I also got to visit my favorite restaurants in the area. We even got to do our traditional holiday light sight seeing.  It was awesome.  In the end we missed our puppy dog and our bed but it was great seeing my family and friends.

Looking back through the year I can't believe it is already the end of year two.  While it feels like we have lived here forever it seems like only a couple of weeks ago we were saying, "I do." I hope I continue to grow this next year.  They say that year three is a hard one.  I am optimistic that we will be fine.  I love you sweetie.  You are my favorite!!
